Ole Miss alumnus and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is getting recognized for something other than his Super Bowl-winning talent.

Manning has been named as one of the world’s top 10 most charitable athletes by Global Grind, according to Sports Media 101.

Early in his NFL career, Manning volunteered in relief efforts, helping get supplies to the devastated Gulf Coast region after Hurricane Katrina. He has helped raise $2.8 million for the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson for the construction of the Eli Manning Children’s Clinics, which offers outpatient care to thousands of children in Mississippi.

He and his wife also donated $1 million to the Ole Miss Opportunity Scholarship Fund, a program designed to help Mississippi students with financial need to attend college.

Earlier this year, the New York Observer also named Manning as one of the Top 20 Philanthropists Under 40 for his charitable efforts.
