Are you ready? It’s game week here in Oxford, and the University of Mississippi Associated Student Body is hosting a Kickoff Week filled with a variety of fun events you won’t want to miss!

Lots of events are scheduled for Tuesday (Sept. 1). Students should stop by the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get to know the many organizations we have here at Ole Miss. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved. Later, Dean of Students Melinda Sutton and Athletics Director Ross Bjork will speak at the Ford Center at 7 p.m.

Those interested in joining the College Republicans and College Democrats or the Alexander Hamilton Society can come to the Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 2). Volunteer Oxford will have information available for those who want to give back to their community. From 3 to 4 p.m., a Chancellor’s Listening Session will be held in Bishop Hall, Room 209. U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly will also be on campus, speaking 7-8:30 p.m. at the Overby Center.

Thursday (Sept. 3) is all about Throwback Thursday. The Starnes Training Center-Hollingsworth/Manning Hall will host an M-Club Ole Miss Athletics Exhibit on the second floor from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and everyone is welcome. A kickoff pep rally begins at 7:45 p.m. in the Grove, and students are encouraged to come out to get ready for game day with their Ole Miss family.

Everyone should wear blue on Friday (Sept. 4) to show off their game-day spirit. Students can take pictures with the famous Egg Bowl trophy at the Triplett Alumni Center. While this is a great opportunity, the trophy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Finally, Saturday (Sept. 5) is game day, the day we’ve been waiting for all year. Staff members from the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will serve breakfast in the Grove from 8 to 10 a.m. so students can get their game day off to a delicious start.

The Associated Student Body has an exciting week planned for everyone, so make sure to come out and get involved. Have a great week Rebs, and Hotty Toddy! See y’all at the Grove on Saturday!
