Two major announcements one concerning the University of Mississippi's journalism program and the other about a universitywide capital campaign are set for this weekend.

University administrators and faculty gather at 11:30 a.m. Friday on the front steps of Farley Hall for a news conference on a major gift to the journalism program. University photographers will be on hand, and photos will be available by e-mail Friday afternoon.

All Ole Miss alumni, faculty-staff, fans and the media are invited to "Launching MomentUM," a public kickoff for the university's capital drive, at 10 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The event is to feature hot air balloons, children's activities, the university's "Pride of the South" marching band and more. Same-day photos will be available by e-mail.
