Race for Veterans Set Thursday at UM

Participants in AmTrykes in Action to loop University Circle 75 times

AmTrykesInActionThe University of Mississippi Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management will host the AmTrykes in Action Race at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 10) in the Circle. For each team registered, an AmTryke therapeutic tricycle will be donated to a disabled veteran.

Participants will use AmTryke tricycles, which are made for individuals who are unable to operate traditional bikes due to disabilities. Each team will race around University Circle 75 times to compete for the fastest time.

For the event, HESRM is collaborating with the Memphis chapter of Ambucs, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
