Student Group Warns of Dangers of Eating Disorders

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi Student Dietetic Association is hosting a series of events to coincide with National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

The association plans to distribute free information on healthy eating and eating disorders at the Student Union Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb. 16-17). In addition, dietetic intern Megan Robinson will present information in several UM sorority houses about eating disorders.

On Feb. 22, the student group hosts a public screening of “America the Beautiful,” a documentary about America’s obsession with beauty. Door prizes will be awarded, and the association is raising money for the 2011 program, which is to include a charity walk/run and a national speaker.
