New Mobile Safety App Use Encouraged for UM Students, Employees

Everbridge provides emergency communications, COVID-19 updates, live bus routes and more

OXFORD, Miss. – University of Mississippi students, faculty and staff are urged to download and use a new mobile safety app that improves emergency communications and provides COVID-19 updates and more.

The Everbridge mobile safety app is available for download on Android and iOS devices and provides a direct, quick and convenient way to communicate directly with campus safety officials during an emergency. The app has many features, including an Emergency Call, a Safe Corridor and the ability to securely report tips and information.

“The Everbridge application extends the capabilities beyond LiveSafe, our previous offering,” said Josh Glasz, coordinator for emergency management services. “It has greater customizability and allows us to flex the product as the needs of our campus change.”

Other resources in the Everbridge app include:

  • OUT bus routes and information – users can track OUT buses live
  • Interactive campus map – users can quickly access the Oxford, Booneville, Grenada, Desoto and Tupelo campus maps online
  • News and Events – quick access to what’s happening on campus, events and athletics events, as well as campus news
  • Other campus resources – contact information for critical departments such as UPD, Health Services, Counseling Center, Parking and Transportation, as well as other local public safety agencies
  • COVID-19 Information – campus-centric and other COVID-19 resources
  • COVID-19 Report Positive – easily and confidentially report a positive COVID-19 test result directly to the campus Health Center

Students and employees can download the Everbridge mobile app directly from the Google Play Marketplace or iOS App Store. Once downloaded, just search for Ole Miss in the “Find an organization” field to be connected to the UM community.
