Rave Guardian App Goes Live Thursday

New technology replaces Everbridge app

OXFORD, Miss. – Effective Thursday (March 17), the University of Mississippi will replace Everbridge with the Rave Guardian app as its official campus safety mobile application to help communicate emergency and safety information to the campus community.

All members of the university community are urged to install the Rave Guardian app on their Android or iOS devices. Download the Rave Guardian app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then enter and verify your contact information. Be sure to allow the app the requested permissions for full functionality.

The Rave Guardian app is a secure and private smartphone app with features such as:

  • Emergency call: one-click emergency dialing to either 911 or campus police
  • Inbox: timely campus notifications, alerts and updates
  • Campus directory: local public health and safety contacts
  • Campus resources: interactive Oxford campus map, OUT bus routes, campus events, health and safety information and mental wellness resources

Additional features coming soon to the Rave Guardian app include:

  • Report tips/chat: two-way communication with an optional anonymous mode
  • Safety timer: virtual campus-safety escort feature
