UM Begins Campus Climate Assessment

Campuswide survey runs Oct. 15 through Nov. 12

OXFORD, Miss. – Beginning Oct. 15, University of Mississippi faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in a campuswide survey related to campus climate aimed at continuing work toward creating an environment characterized by openness, fairness and equal access for all.

UM students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for completing the survey, which ends Nov. 12. The prizes include parking passes and gift cards ranging from $150 to $250.

Paper copies and computers will be available for those who need these accommodations to take the survey.

All voices are needed in this important effort to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment across the entire campus. A committee of Ole Miss students, faculty and staff worked with Rankin & Associates, a consulting group specializing in the higher education field, to develop the climate assessment.

The results will better enable the university to both develop programs and policies that will increase inclusivity in areas that are shown to be problematic and to enhance and replicate programs and policies in areas that are shown to be successfully meeting the needs of the community.

The survey takes an average of 20-30 minutes to complete. All answers will remain strictly confidential. Survey results will be shared in spring 2020.
