Miss University, France Beard, signs autographs for a future Rebel at an autograph party in Vicksburg. France is competing this week in Vicksburg at the Miss Mississippi Pageant.
The Miss Mississippi pageant began earlier this week with preliminary rounds, but the real excitement will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, when the final round airs live from Jackson.
Miss University France Beard will represent the University of Mississippi at the competition. Seven other Ole Miss students are competing for the crown and the chance to represent Mississippi in the Miss America competition. Those contestants include Miss Natchez Trace Carol Coker, Miss Southern Heartland Kristen Elyse Furr, Miss Pearl River Valley Morgan Burnett, Miss Amory Taylor Cos, Miss Deep South Abigail Wilbanks, Miss Hattiesburg Ivey Swan and Miss Dixie Kendall Pasley.
The final night of the competition will be televised on WLBT in Jackson, WTVA in Tupelo, WABG in Greenville, WGBC in Meridian, WLOX in Biloxi and WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. Be sure to check your local listings and tune in to cheer on our Ole Miss girls!
