Welcome the College GameDay Bus to Campus

Gather for Gameday

Gather for Gameday

The day we’ve all be waiting for is drawing near – ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from the Grove beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 prior to the Ole Miss vs. Alabama football game.

Needless to say, Oxford and campus have been a bit busier this week. To add to the excitement, representatives from College GameDay approached University Communications with a unique opportunity. On Thursday, Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. the College GameDay bus will arrive in the Circle to shoot an intro video for the live broadcast on Saturday.

GameDay officials have asked that every student, faculty, staff and local community member who would like to be a part of the experience arrive to the Circle at that time.  In addition, the show will provide a limited number of VIP passes for Saturday’s show to the student group or organization with the largest turnout/most spirit in the Circle tomorrow evening.

To accommodate for the bus, the the Circle will close to all visitors tomorrow at noon. Faculty and staff with reserved parking spaces as well as vehicles with ADA hangtags will still be allowed to park in the Circle.

Not only is this an outstanding opportunity for our town and campus to show our Ole Miss pride, but it’s a chance to be on national television. So if you don’t have any plans for Thursday evening, we hope to see you in the Circle to help welcome the College GameDay bus and ‘Gather for GameDay.’
