Why 1848?

School of Engineering development officer makes case for supporting annual Giving Day

The School of Engineering is excited to be participating in the first-ever Giving Day at the University of Mississippi. Beginning at 9 a.m. (CDT) on April 11, you will have the opportunity to play a part in this important day. Giving Day is an online, social media-driven giving campaign that will last 1 day, 8 hours and 48 minutes to commemorate the year of the university’s founding, 1848.

We hope you will join in this inaugural event and help make it a success. You will have the opportunity to support the School of Engineering when you visit umfoundation.com/GivingDay. Gifts may be made to the School of Engineering and will support our dedicated students as they continue their pursuit of careers that will positively affect the state and nation.

As you explore this month’s edition of the e-newsletter, you will see compelling stories about students and faculty who’ve excelled within the School of Engineering. Read about our outstanding seniors for 2019. Enjoy discovering how student Sam Berry and alumnus Curt Ayers III both became published authors. Be introduced to Ron Counts, the new associate director of the Mississippi Mineral Resources Institute. Your financial support makes all of this possible.

Please mark your calendars for April 11, and let’s make this day a tremendous success for the School of Engineering and the University of Mississippi. Thank you for all you do to support Ole Miss Engineering.
