The Old Taylor Road bridge over Highway 6 – as well as the ramps onto and off the bridge from Highway 6 – will close on Monday, May 12 and remain closed until mid-August. During this time, vehicles will not have access to Highway 6 at the Old Taylor Road junction. Kitchenaid Road, a relief road that connects Old Taylor Road to Coliseum Drive, is now open to through traffic. See a map of the affected areas and detour route.

The closure is part of a Mississippi Department of Transportation construction project that will widen the bridge and add a roundabout on either side of Old Taylor Road Bridge over Highway 6. The widened bridge will be able to accommodate four traffic lanes and will feature a protected, eight-foot sidewalk for pedestrians. The new bridge and ramps will open no later than August 15, though work will continue in the area until November.
