On Oct. 4, 2014, the Ole Miss Rebels defeated top-ranked Alabama.
The last time the Rebs beat Bama was in 2003, when Eli Manning was quarterback.
And something happened that day much bigger than just a win. That was the day Ole Miss fans once again had a football program that could compete at the highest level. It was the day that energized our fan base.
What Coach Hugh Freeze has done for Ole Miss football in his three years in Oxford is unbelievable, but it reaches far beyond the football field. From the actions and words of our players, it is evident that he has not only coached these guys to become better players, but also to be better men.
As it stands right now, the Rebels are one victory away from winning 9 games in the regular season. We’ve been ranked among the top 10 of all college football programs for much of the season and ranked in the Top 25 the entire season.
I think I can speak for the Ole Miss fan base when I say we are extremely thankful for Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss football. This year has been an amazing.
Now it’s Egg Bowl Eve and our biggest Egg Bowl ever is tomorrow. Get there early and cheer on our Rebels!
