Rebels Complete Play In Gator Women’s Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla.  —
Natalie Gleadall fired a 2-under 68 to lead the Ole Miss women’s golf team in the final round of the Suntrust Gator Women’s Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the campus of the University of Florida.

The Rebels duplicated Saturday’s team score, posting a 293 to conclude the tournament in 10th place among the 17-team field.

Playing on their home course, host No. 23 Florida won the tournament championship, shooting a 287 to top No. 2 Alabama by one stroke.  The Gators and Crimson Tide entered the day tied for first.

“I’m proud of the team for fighting back these last two rounds,” said Ole Miss head coach

Michele Drinkard.  “We need to bring that intensity every round.”

After struggling the first two days, Gleadall broke out of her slump on Sunday.   The senior rolled in three birdies and bogeyed just one hole to turn in the third-lowest individual score of the final round.

Junior
Ericka Schneider also put together a solid round, carding a 72.  Schneider birdied four holes, including two of her final three.

Haley Millsap was the top finisher in the individual standings for the Rebels, falling just two strokes shy of the top-20.  Millsap got off to a great start Sunday before finishing
the day at 5-over..

The Rebels will be back in action March 26-27 for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Maui, Hawaii.
