Ole Miss will close out the regular season at Vanderbilt in the final series of the regular season. Thursday night’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be televised by ESPNU, while Saturday’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday’s finale will begin at 2 p.m.

The Rebels will continue play with the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Hoover, Alabama. The tournament will kick-off on Tuesday at Regions Park. with seedings and match-ups still to be determined for the annual event.

NOTING WAHL: Sophomore right-hander Bobby Wahl takes the mound on Thursday night to open the 14thof the season. On the year, Wahl is 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA and has posted 79 strikeouts with 27 walks in his 74.1 innings of work. The sophomore is holding opponents to a .215 batting average against and has combined for three shutouts this season. He has picked up wins over #10 TCU, UNC-Wilmington, Houston, Auburn and #1 Florida. He has twice been named the SEC Pitcher of the Week, been tabbed as the National Pitcher of the Week, has been selected to compete for the USA Baseball National Team and was named to the Golden Spikes Player of the Year watch list and National Pitcher of the Year watch list.

NOTING MAYERS: Sophomore right-hander Mike Mayers is set to make his 13th start of the season when he takes the mound against Vanderbilt on Friday. The sophomore is 4-2 on the season with a 4.04 ERA and has posted 49 strikeouts with 23 walks in his 71.1 innings of work. This season, Ma ers has posted wins over UNC-Wilmington, Houston, #1 Kentucky and #15 Arkansas. Mayers has co bined for one shutout on the season, a 1-0 win over the Razorbacks where he allowed only two hits for the game. It will be the sixth Saturday start of the season for Mayers who has two wins and taken three no decisions in five Saturday starts. Ole Miss has won all five games Mayers has started on Saturday this season.

A LOOK AT VANDERBILT:
The Commodores of Vanderbilt enter the weekend series with an overall record of 26-25 and are 13-14 in the Southeastern Conference after claiming the last three weekend series against Kentucky, Tennessee and LSU. As a team, Vanderbilt is hitting at a .268 clip and is led at the plate by Anthony Gomez with a .357 average and a team-leading 45 RBI. Connor Harrell is the top power hitter for Vanderbilt with six home runs and is one of 10 players to notch a round-tripper this season. The Commodore pitching staff holds a 4.20 ERA and has posted 386 strikeouts with 213 walks. Opponents are hitting at a .254 clip against Vandy. Thursday night starter T.J. Pecoraro holds an 0-4 record with a 4.60 ERA and has posted 20 strikeouts with 15 walks in 31.1 innings of work.
OLE MISS VS. VANDERBILT:
Ole Miss and Vanderbilt have faced each other 110 times in the history of the programs with the Rebels holding a 59-49-2 lead in the all-time series. The two teams have not met since the 2009 season in Oxford when the Rebels claimed a 2-1 series win.
LAST TIME OUT VS. VANDERBILT:
Ole Miss and Vanderbilt last met in the 2009 season with the Rebels claiming the Friday and Saturday games to win the weekend series. Ole Miss won the first game 9-3 with Logan Power going 3-or-4 with four RBI. The second game was a 6-1 win with Jordan Henry scoring three runs in one official at bat, but drawing three walks. Rory McKean picked up a relief win in game one, while Phillip Irwin pitched a complete-game in game two in a 7.0 inning game as part of a doubleheader to clinch the series.
BIANCO VS. VANDERBILT:
Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco has had success against Vanderbilt, posting an all-time record of 20-12 against the Commodores as a head coach. The two teams did not meet in 2010 or 2011.
