OXFORD, Miss. – An annual trunk show featuring Miss University showcasing her wardrobe and talent in advance of the state pageant was held July 2 on the Ole Miss campus.
This year’s show featured Caroline Conerly who is preparing to compete in the Miss Mississippi Pageant in Vicksburg beginning today (July 10). Conerly showcased everything from her interview dress and swimwear to her evening gown. Conerly also performed her talent, “The Jewel Song” from Charles Gounod’s Faust.
The trunk show also gave Conerly an opportunity to host a silent auction benefiting her platform, the Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education. Since becoming Miss University, Conerly has helped raise over $10,000 for the MAAE.
“This trunk show will help me prepare for the Miss Mississippi pageant by allowing me to wear the competition wear on stage,” Conerly said. “(It) also helps me feel the love and support from my family and friends.Since being crowned Miss University, Conerly has volunteered at Willie Price Nursery on campus and has also been very involved in promoting MAAE. The Miss Mississippi pageant will take place in Vicksburg beginning today and ending Saturday. The pageant can be seen live on the official Miss Mississippi Pro 2013 app for Apple, Windows and Android.
