OXFORD, Miss. – A Holiday Bazaar featuring 15 vendors with one-of-a-kind gifts and much more is scheduled Thursday and Friday, Nov. 13-14, at the University of Mississippi.
Sponsored by the Department of Campus Programming, the unique shopping opportunity is set both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Union Lobby. It is free and open to the public.
“We are really excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our faculty, staff and students, as well as the Oxford community, to come to the Student Union for one-stop holiday shopping,” said Jennifer Taylor, campus programming director. “We have hosted this event for the past two years and have been extremely pleased with the response we have received from the vendors and attendees.”
Vendors will be selling various items, ranging from purses, sunglasses, jewelry and cooking utensils to handmade wooden items, cookbooks, paintings and prints. These include items not only made in and around Oxford but also across Mississippi and Tennessee. Most of the vendors specialize in handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts, including pottery, stationery, wooden spoons and soaps.
Vendor Jennifer Pace-Wilson, owner of Pace Pottery, has participated in Oxford’s Double Decker Festival many times and says she is excited about the Holiday Bazaar.
“I have loved my time at Ole Miss, and I love coming back; it’s a real treat,” Wilson said. “I’m glad that it’s a two-day event this year, and I look forward to participating as well as seeing all of the other vendors.”
