What can you accomplish in 54 hours? With the plethora of resources available during Oxford’s first-ever Startup weekend, Feb. 7-9, you might surprise yourself.
Startup Weekend is a global movement, designed to provide a unique experience for all types of entrepreneurs. Oxford’s first-ever event will take place at the Innovation Hub @ Insight Park, located on the campus of the University of Mississippi. The clock starts ticking with pitches on Friday night and continues with brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation. Throughout the weekend, you’ll collaborate with like-minded individuals and expand your network of professional contacts. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurs. This is definitely a working weekend… packed with action, innovation, and education. Whether you’re looking for feedback on an idea, wanting to identify a co-founder, develop specific skill sets, or build a team to help you execute, Startup Weekend is the perfect place for testing your idea and taking the first steps toward launching your own startup.
I’ll be participating as a coach to help teams with communications strategies. My incredibly talented friend and attorney, Joyce Freeland, is also a coach — and this lady knows her stuff when it comes to the Internet, online businesses and the law. What are you waiting for?
