OXFORD, Miss. – Students in the University of Mississippi School of Applied Sciences will be able to do more than just shake hands with potential employers Thursday (Feb. 11) during the Applied Sciences Career Fair.
The fair, set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Inn at Ole Miss, targets vendors from industry who have specific interests in graduates from programs within the School of Applied Sciences. A diverse group of exhibitors are expected to have booths at the fair.
This year, the fair has been expanded to include a research symposium for faculty and students to present research posters, allowing attendees to see how knowledge can translate into research to impact their professions and industry partners. A networking reception and brief research presentations will be hosted by the school and the Ole Miss Alumni Association from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
“We feel this will enlighten industry on our strengths and diversity and provide student and faculty researchers a unique opportunity to showcase their productivity,” said Teresa Carithers, associate dean of applied sciences and chair of the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management.
