Calvin Gunsaulus IV of Ipswich, Mass., a senior business management major at UM, visits Terre Cinque, a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. Gunsaulus is enrolled this semester at Florence University of the Arts in an affiliate program sponsored by the UM Study Abroad Office.

“Ever
since I was young, I have loved putting myself in new and vulnerable
positions where I am forced to adjust to new lives and lifestyles,”
Gunsaulus said. “Since going to Europe in 2006, I have been hooked
on the European lifestyle and the people.”

A business
management major, with an emphasis on organizational behavior, and a
business marketing minor, Gunsaulus is enrolled at the Florence
University of the Arts in an affiliate program sponsored by the UM Study
Abroad Office. His courses include Italian language for beginners, global
marketing, human resources management, intercultural communication and
social psychology. With his weekly class schedule ending at noon on
Thursdays, he also is spending some weekends traveling throughout
Europe.

He spent a
weekend in Munich for Oktoberfest with a fellow friend from Ole Miss and
plans to visit the island of Malta. “I will also be spending many
weekends in Livorno – which is also known as the Italian Riviera – on the
beach and surfing.”

Gunsaulus’
awards and honors include the Francis Ouimet Scholarship. Following his
graduation from Ole Miss in May, he plans to work for a few years as a
business analyst at a consulting firm, then he wants to return to school
for an MBA, possibly at Babson
College.

A graduate
of St. John’s Preparatory in Danvers, Mass., he is the son of Clyde and
Jan Gunsaulus.
