OXFORD, Miss. – Distinguished artist William Dunlap’s painting “Lowering Sky” is available for purchase at auction as part of the annual Harvest Supper fundraiser, which benefits the University of Mississippi Museum and Historic Houses.
The piece, which was donated by Dunlap, a UM alumnus, is a watercolor on paper and measures 9.25-by-36 inches framed.
Harvest Supper takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 10) on the grounds of Rowan Oak. A limited number of tickets are available from the museum for $125 each.
Those who cannot attend can submit bids for the painting ahead of time by calling the museum or visiting in person before 5 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 9). Bidders who make an in-person bid at the museum will receive a copy of the bid sheet as an acknowledgement of the agreement to bid. Telephone bidders will get an email confirmation to the bid placed over the phone. The email is the verification of responsibility of the placed bid. Bidders will receive a scanned copy of the bid form.
All arrangements for bidding should be made as early as possible. The museum will review each bid and may request additional information to secure it. The museum accepts no responsibility for failure to execute any bid.
