Free Communiversity Classes Open to Public

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi Communiversity program is offering free noncredit classes for the Ole Miss and Oxford community to support and encourage members during the COVID-19 health crisis.

People working from home who would like to polish their Zoom meeting protocol can check out “Speaking with Confidence Online,” led by UM speech instructor Ellie Moore. The 40-minute class will help users consider the environment, technology, appearance, tone and nonverbal delivery in their online meetings.

The online class will meet at 1 p.m. Thursdays for four sessions, beginning this week (April 2).

Self-care is important. The “Midweek Movement and Meditation” course, offered from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesdays, can help manage anxiety and find calm through stretching and mindful meditation. People of all ability levels are invited to participate.

Jennifer Mizenko, a professor of theatre arts specializing in movement and dance, will lead the class.
