OXFORD, Miss. – A new coffee table book, “Ole Miss: A Photographic Essay,” is being readied for publication this fall. The 120-page, oversize publication will feature the best photography captured by the award-winning team at University of Mississippi Communications, and UM alumni can help pick which images are featured.

“Ole Miss was recently named ‘Most Beautiful’ by Newsweek magazine,” said Neil White, creative director and publisher at Nautilus Publishing Co. “And the university also happens to employ photographers that are as talented as any in America. Those two forces have converged and we have the privilege of sharing that beauty through this book.”

The University Communication website hosts more than 77,000 of the photography team’s best photos from the past five years. The university community can help select the photographs that will appear in the book. To vote, visit http://rebs.ms/bestpix. Voters will be entered to win a free copy of the book.

“We’ve narrowed down the images to the best of the best,” said Robert Jordan, UM director of photography. “Now, Ole Miss fans have a chance to help edit the book, by choosing which images make the final cut.”

“Ole Miss: A Photographic Essay” will feature more than 120 extraordinary images of Ole Miss ranging from beautiful landscapes to dramatic sports shots.

The book is slated to hit bookstores Aug. 15, 2013.
