Ole Miss Working to Accommodate Gameday Parking

OXFORD, Miss. – With construction under way on several campus projects
and the historic presidential debate nearing, the University of
Mississippi and city of Oxford are working to provide numerous gameday
parking opportunities for the upcoming football season.

Due to preparations for the Sept. 26 debate, the Ford Center parking
lot will be closed for the Memphis, Samford and Vanderbilt games. The
parking lot is expected to reopen for the South Carolina game.


Several public parking areas remain available on Saturdays, including:

– MDOT lot on Old Taylor Road (a $10 fee is required for each vehicle, except for Grove Society members)
– Kinard Hall on Rebel Drive, by the water tower
– Intramural fields off Hathorn Road
– Oxford Mall on West Jackson Avenue
– Guyton Hall on Fraternity Row across from the chancellor’s residence.

Parking is prohibited along the sides of the Gertrude Ford Parkway, Highway 6 right-of-way and University Avenue from the Circle to the four-way stop.

In addition, the city of Oxford provides shuttle service from various parking locations across town for $2 per person, including:

– Oxford Activities Center at 400 Price St.
– Central Middle School at 499 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
– Oxford Softball/Soccer Complex on McElroy Drive.
– Vanderbilt game only – Oxford Conference Center on Sisk Avenue.

As always, fans are encouraged to arrive early. The Grove opens for tailgating at 7 p.m. Friday, and the team takes its traditional walk through the Grove approximately two hours and 30 minutes before kickoff.
