Office of Health Promotion Helps Students Stay Healthy on Spring Break

OXFORD, Miss. – Before students head out for spring break, the University of Mississippi wants them to be informed and safe.

The UM Office of Health Promotion and Planned Parenthood is offering free, confidential HIV testing and counseling Tuesday (March 9) on the fourth floor of the Student Union. The event runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and test results will be available within 20 minutes.

On Wednesday, the Office of Health Promotion will hand out spring break safety information from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Student Union Plaza. Billed as “Safe Spring Break Luau,” the event also includes free giveaways.

Thursday is “Kick Butts Day.” Staff from the Office of Health Promotion and the Student Health Pharmacy will provide tobacco cessation information from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union lobby, including details on free assistance to help kick the harmful habit.
