Another semester is pretty much in the books at the University of Mississippi and the holiday season is almost here.
As we wind down our responsibilities before the university closes Dec. 22 for winter break, here are a few campus happenings to keep in mind:
Events
The Staff Council hosts a Staff Holiday Reception from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 15) in the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. This will also be an opportunity to donate to the Books and Bears program, which provides toys and books for families in the Facilities Management Department.
The Gingerbread House Village is on display through Dec. 19 at the Ford Center. Be sure to stop by and check it out!
The Ole Miss Rebels basketball teams have only a few games left in the Tad Smith Coliseum before the opening of The Pavilion in January. The men’s basketball team will play Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 and Troy University at 3 p.m. Dec. 22. The women’s basketball team will face University of New Orleans at 6 p.m., Dec. 14, Tulane University at 6 p.m. Dec. 16, McNeese State at noon Dec. 19 and Alabama A&M at 6 p.m. Dec. 29.
Parking Changes
The parallel parking spaces along Rebel Drive in front of Kinard and Sam-Gerard halls will be removed beginning Dec. 14. Parking spaces are available along Rebel Drive in the new Data Center Parking Lot to accommodate faculty and staff.
Beginning Dec. 12, regular and residential Park-N-Ride bus services will be suspended through Jan. 18. The silver, gold and brown Park-N-Ride lines will resume operations at 7 a.m. Jan. 19. All Park-N-Ride permit holders must park in designated areas of campus at that time.
The university closes at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and will reopen Jan. 4, 2016. Have a safe and happy holiday!
