Homecoming Queen and Court to Be Presented at Football Halftime

OXFORD, Miss. – University of Mississippi students, alumni and friends look forward to an array of activities Friday and Saturday (Nov. 11-12) during Homecoming Weekend.

A memorable experience each year is crowning of the Ole Miss Homecoming queen and presentation of her court. The ceremony for this year’s queen, Maggie Martha Day of Fayetteville, Ark., is set for halftime of the football matchup between Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

Day is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and political science. A member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, she is the daughter of William and Deana Day of Fayetteville.

Miss Ole Miss and Colonel Rebel, Mary Alex Street of Jackson and Logan Rush of Meridian, will be introduced between the first and second quarters.

Street, a senior public policy major, is a member of the Honors College. Her parents are Martin Street and Dr. Lorraine M. Street of Jackson. Rush is in pre-med with a major in biology and minors in chemistry and psychology. He is the son of Dr. Sonny and Karen Rush of Meridian.

Homecoming maids are seniors Emily Cutrer of Gulfport and Amanda Hutcheson of Grayson, Ga., juniors Ashleigh Davis of Gulfport and Neal Tisher of Mobile, Ala., sophomores Megan McBeth of Brandon and Elise Luers of Concord, N.H., and freshmen Sidney Ann Fucich of Baton Rouge, La., and Dallas Hardin of Covington, Ga.

Homecoming escorts representing Ole Miss men’s sports are Chad Bounds of Meridian and Thomas Watkins of Madison, golf; R. J. Hively of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Austin Sullivan of Mary Esther, Fla., baseball; Reggie Buckner of Memphis, Tenn., and Terrance Henry of Monroe, La., basketball; Ben Lapane of Mobile, Ala., and Carson Blanks of Meridian, track and field.
