Whether you’ve invited someone to campus or are stopped by a visitor with questions, here’s the information you need to help guests who would like to park on campus beginning Aug. 15:
Visitor parking passes are required on campus Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Passes are not required until 9 p.m. as previously stated.
Schools and departments can purchase parking passes for guests for 50 cents each. You can purchase these passes from the Department of Parking and Transportation in advance. The passes are valid for one-time use only. Call Parking and Transportation at 915-7235 to order.
Guests coming to campus have three options when purchasing passes:
1. Online at olemiss.edu/parking – Print a $1 pass in advance.
2. At the campus welcome booth – A temporary welcome booth, located on University Avenue near the entrance of the Circle, opened this morning. A host will provide $1 parking passes, directions and maps to guests from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Construction on a permanent booth is under way. While the temporary booth will only take cash and checks, the permanent booth will also take credit cards, as well as cash and checks.
3. In Lester Hall, Room 120 – Guests should park in one of two clearly marked spots in front of Lester while purchasing a pass in the Department of Parking and Transportation office.
Guests on campus to purchase tickets or make donations may park in clearly marked, short-term (30 minutes or less) parking spots near areas including the UM Foundation, Athletics and the Union. If you have a hangtag designated for another lot, such as faculty/staff, you will be ticketed for parking in these spots.
