OXFORD, Miss. – Grammy-nominated composer, musician and nationally syndicated radio host John Tesh will perform his “Big Band Christmas” Dec. 16 at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Mississippi.
Tickets to the 3 p.m. concert range from $39 to $50 for various seating and are available by visiting the UM Box Office in the Student Union or by calling 662-915-7411.
“The University of Mississippi is known for bringing in performers who enhance the cultural and educational experience of the university,” said Norm Easterbrook, director of the Ford Center. “John Tesh is one such performer. He has the knack for choosing just the right songs for all ages. He seems to become one with the audience.”
Tesh is an American pianist and composer of new age and contemporary Christian music. He also previously served as a sportscaster, news anchor and reporter. Besides singing and playing the piano, he also plays keyboards, guitar and saxophone.
“Big Band Christmas” features Tesh and a 14-member band playing favorite holiday tunes in swing style.
A six-time Emmy Award-winner, Tesh is also known by many as the longtime host of the syndicated TV program “Entertainment Tonight.” He has a nationally-syndicated radio show called the “John Tesh Radio Show,” which airs on approximately 250 stations nationwide, primarily on adult contemporary music stations.
