The University of Mississippi is helping students, faculty and staff get in touch with their creative sides through a Mandala Coloring Series.

This drop-in event series began Feb. 15 and continues with events that run 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on five Mondays throughout the remainder of the spring semester: Feb. 29, March 7 and 29, and April 11 and 25.

Patrons are invited to stop by the Ole Miss Student Union plaza to color their own mandala. This free activity is sure to help cure any case of the Mondays blahs.

“Mindfulness is at the forefront of wellness,” said Erin Cromeans, assistant director for health promotion. “Our Mange the Mondays Mandala Coloring Series is a way to bring awareness to the importance of mental health and wellness, specifically stress management.

“We know a top concern of our student body is how to cope with the stressors in their lives. This is our way of providing a healthy option for managing stress. Our hope is to grow our Manage the Mondays series and provide additional opportunities, like puzzles or board games and even static locations of our coloring series, across the campus.”

The event is sponsored by offices of Health Promotion, Campus Recreation, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Rebels Against Sexual Assault, and by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi.
