… Registration deadline is April 27
OXFORD, Miss. – Although not being played on the world-famous grounds of Augusta National, an upcoming golf tournament benefits masters of a different kind.
The University of Mississippi MBA Association is continuing a tradition of excellence with the third annual Ole Miss MBA Golf Classic, held at the Ole Miss Golf Course. With all of the tournament’s proceeds going toward the MBA’s scholarship fund, the event is not only a great excuse to hit the links but also is a great way to help future MBA students with tuition and other expenses.
Included in the tournament fees of $125 per golfer ($100 for students) are a golf cart, lunch and a T-shirt. Breakfast will be available at 8 a.m. May 5, with the shotgun start following at 8:30 a.m. Participants are requested to register by April 27.
“This is an entirely student run golf tournament, and it shows the dedication of the MBA class to pay it forward and raise money for scholarships,” said Bethany Cooper, director of corporate relations and MBA/MHA services. “It is also a great opportunity for alums to return to campus and network with each other and with students.”
Again this year, Ole Miss will partner with Acura to send the winning golf team to the legendary Pinehurst Resort to play in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship, set for Nov. 1-4. The package includes four days and three nights at the Pinehurst Resort.
The administrators of the MBA Golf Classic will raise money by collecting tournament fees from participants and by offering sponsored holes; sponsorship tiers available include the “Red & Blue,” “Rebel,” “M” and the “Hotty Toddy” with donation levels at $1,000, $500, $250 and all levels below $250, respectively. Additionally, a silent auction featuring donated items ranging from golf balls to vacations will be held at a luncheon, with tickets selling for $25.
Registration is available online at http://www.olemissalumni.com/ or by contacting Cooper at bcooper@bus.olemiss.edu or 662-915-5483.
