Christina Lewis
Christina Lewis, operations manager at the University of Mississippi Telecommunications Center, is the Staff Council’s Staff Member of the Month for August. To help us get to know her better, she answered some questions for Inside Ole Miss.
IOM: How long have you worked at Ole Miss?
Lewis: 14 years
IOM: What is your hometown?
Lewis: Picayune, Mississippi.
IOM: Talk about your favorite Ole Miss memory? (This can be work-related, but does not have to be.)
Lewis: One of my favorite Ole Miss memories is when Housing held move-in day at the Jackson Avenue Center, formerly known as the “Old Walmart.” I enjoyed assisting students and their families with information about the university and telecommunications services.
IOM: What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work?
Lewis: Telecommunications has a family atmosphere that I truly value. I enjoy preforming support staff tasks for our technicians, students and faculty/staff members.
IOM: What do you like to do when you are not at work?
Lewis: In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors.
IOM: What is one thing on your bucket list?
Lewis: One of the things on my bucket list is to travel. I would love to one day travel to Greece with my family.
IOM: What is your favorite movie?
Lewis: “Braveheart.”
IOM: What is your favorite Ole Miss tradition?
Lewis: Like most people, my favorite Ole Miss tradition is the Grove. Ole Miss fan or not, you have to love the Grove atmosphere.
IOM: What is a fun fact about you?
Lewis: My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip.
IOM: If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead/fictional or real, who would it be and why?
Lewis: I would like to talk to a solder that fought in WWII. I would enjoy listening to the stories that have never been told.
IOM: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Lewis: Loyal, energetic, thoughtful.
IOM: If you could visit one time or place in world history (past, present or future), what would it be?
Lewis: I would go to Jerusalem and walk the streets with Jesus.
IOM: If I could be an animal for a day I would be ____ .
Lewis: A lion.
