Jen Blakley, administrative assistant in the School of Pharmacy, has been named Staff Council’s Staff Member of the Month for January. To help us get to know her better, she answered some questions for Inside Ole Miss.
IOM: How long have you worked at Ole Miss?
Blakley: 1 year and 4 months
IOM: What is your hometown?
Blakley: Van Wert, Ohio.
IOM: Talk about your favorite Ole Miss memory.
Blakley: Watching my daughter perform as an Ole Miss Rebelette!
IOM: What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work?
Blakley: Working with the faculty, staff and students.
IOM: What do you like to do when you are not at work?
Blakley: Spend time with my family, enjoy Ole Miss athletic events, shop and clean.
IOM: What is one thing on your bucket list?
Blakley: To visit Alaska.
IOM: What is your favorite movie?
Blakley: “Titanic”
IOM: What is your favorite Ole Miss tradition?
Blakley: The Walk of Champions and the Grove.
IOM: What is a fun fact about you?
Blakley: I was a baton twirler.
IOM: If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead/fictional or real, who would it be and why?
Blakely: My late grandpa. He passed when I was younger, but he had such an impact on my life. I would love to be able to have some more time with him.
IOM: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Blakely: Mom, dedicated, compassionate.
IOM: If you could visit one time or place in world history (past, present or future), what would it be?
Blakley: The Apollo 11 mission.
IOM: If I could be an animal for a day I would be _____ .
Blakely: An eagle.
