Samir Husni, University of Mississippi professor and director of the Magazine Innovation Center in the Meek School of Journalism and New Media, is sharing his expertise on magazines on a radio segment of Marketplace Business, a nationally syndicated program produced by American Public Media.

Over the course of nearly 30 years, Husni, known as “Mr. Magazine,” has built a solid international reputation for his knowledge in magazine publication, editing, design and collecting.

The American Public Media piece, “More than 800 Magazines Launched in the Last Year,” is available online for both listening and reading. Commentary from Husni is featured prominently throughout the story.

“There is a magazine for everything you can imagine, you can dream about or you can even have nightmares about,” he says. “The joke I tell my students: You name a part of the human body, and there’s at least one or two magazines devoted to it.”
