OXFORD, Miss. – The opportunities for volunteers at the University of Mississippi Museum are just as broad and exciting as the museum’s collections, which range from Southern folk art and William Faulkner ephemera to ancient Greek artifacts and antique scientific instruments.
UM kicks off its volunteer program with an orientation meeting at the museum at 5:30 p.m. March 9. During the hourlong introductory meeting, attendees learn about the abundant volunteer opportunities, from educational programming to visitor services.
Volunteers also must attend a four-hour comprehensive museum training session at a later date. To maximize the program, volunteers are asked for a one-year service commitment.
Individuals interested in volunteering should contact Holly Bethune at 662-915-7205 or Bethune@olemiss.edu.
