New Dining Options Open on Campus

New restaurant, athletics dining hall and two new on-demand locations expand options at Ole Miss

New dining options are now available across campus.

OXFORD, Miss. – As students return to the University of Mississippi for the spring semester, new dining and convenience options are here to greet them. Students, faculty and staff can grab something on the go from two new Provisions on Demand, or POD, sites or order meals from two new restaurants.

Two new PODs, similar to those already found in Minor Hall and the newly-renovated Lamar Hall, have been installed in Crosby Hall and the lobby of Stockard and Martin halls. The PODs offer fresh sandwiches, chips and other snack options in a convenient, grab-and-pay interface.

A noticeable change will be found in the Student Union, where the Magnolia Kitchen has been replaced by Panda Express, a popular Asian-inspired fast-service chain. Panda Express is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Serving up healthy dining options, including the largest salad bar on campus, the Grill at 1810 is also open in the Manning Center. The Grill at 1810 serves breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday-Thursday, breakfast and lunch on Friday and dinner on Sunday evenings.

The new options are designed to provide convenience and a broader range of nutrition choices for the campus community, said Jonathan Parker, resident district director of Aramark Inc., the company that manages Ole Miss dining.

“As the Ole Miss community continues to grow, we are focused on staying ahead of demand in terms of the quantity of locations needed to serve a larger student body, as well as to accommodate the diverse range of desired nutrition options,” Parker explained. “We look forward to hearing feedback about these new offerings and will continue to work hard to deliver quality dining choices to the Ole Miss family.”

Renovations continue in the Johnson Commons, with an entirely new cooked-to-order concept coming soon. The renovated space will have a new name, Rebel Market, which was selected by a vote of the Ole Miss student body.
