The new double roundabout and bridge with a pedestrian path has opened on Old Taylor Road just in time for the big student migration back to campus later this month.

The roundabouts should make traffic flow much better on the busy road and also provide relief to those who work and live in the heavily-populated area, but have been dealing with detours since construction began earlier this year.

Thursday afternoon, plenty of locals rode down to the new interchange to get a look at it. It was kind of funny to watch motorists feel out the new traffic configuration, which is a big improvement from the old one. Some were trying to drive and take pictures of it with their cellphones, which made for some dangerous merging situations. I snapped a photo for my Instagram account, but I was in the passenger seat.

Go check out the glorious new interchange, but as always, drive safely.

Hotty Toddy.
