OK, so the headline is a little misleading. The fact is the Ole Miss Family Association is not just for Ole Miss parents. If someone you love is a student at Ole Miss, there is a way for you to keep up-to-date with all of the opportunities on campus for you and other members of your family.

And the first of those “can’t miss” opportunities is coming up soon! The association is sponsoring a Fall Family Weekend on Sept. 12-13, which is the weekend of the Ole Miss vs. Louisiana-Lafayette football game. Association members are invited to a reception on Friday followed by a breakfast and catered tailgating tent on the day of the game. Plus, if you are the parent of a freshman, you will have an opportunity to see your student participate in the Ninth Annual Rebel Run. It’s an amazing event that enables freshmen to run across the football field just before the first game to the cheers of an entire stadium of people. It’s the Ole Miss way of welcoming them (and you) to the campus and the Ole Miss family.

The Ole Miss Family Program was formerly called the Ole Miss Parent Program. But the fact is that our students have a lot of people in their lives who support them, and we want everyone to be included and get the information they want.

So, an annual membership includes advance notice of Fall Family Weekend events as well as other events and news on campus; a monthly e-newsletter with information tailored for the parents and families of students; discounts to various Ole Miss athletics events and weekends; and an avenue to maintain strong ties to the Ole Miss academic community through events and opportunities.
