The Ole Miss Women’s Council and the Office of Student Affairs will be hosting a two-day leadership workshop for sophomore students called PULSE “Preparing Undergraduate Leaders-A Student Experience” which will be held Jan. 17-18, 2015, at the Robert C. Khayat Law Center.
PULSE will expose sophomore students to various concepts of leadership that will assist them in becoming more aware of themselves and the realization that leadership is an expression of self and a means of serving, inspiring and empowering others.
Assistant Dean of Students Coulter Ward said, “The sophomore population is a key component that is often overlooked. It is a transitional period from being a freshman to an upperclassman and we think a prime demographic to get thinking how they can develop as leaders on our campus.”
Over a dozen business leaders and alumni will participate in the PULSE workshop. These leaders will provide students an opportunity to learn from their career achievements through their insight and prospective on leadership.
The overarching goal of the PULSE program is to provide students with both information and experiences that equip them with confidence to lead in ways to create a more caring and ethical world as they articulate their own visions for themselves as leaders.
