OXFORD, Miss. – Six members of the 2015 Ole Miss track & field team have received All-Academic recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Men’s All-Academic honorees included Daniel Bulmer, Quintavius Burdette and Kevin Conway, while women’s recipients were Mary Alex England, Brooke Feldmeier and Fabia McDonald.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Bulmer was SEC champion in the mile and distance medley relay to cap his Rebel career in style this past February. His league titles helped the Ole Miss men to their best SEC indoor finish (fourth) since 1984.
Burdette, who also plays wide receiver on the Ole Miss football team, ran the leadoff leg for the Rebels’ 4×100-meter relay squad that advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Conway competed at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in both the discus and hammer throw.
England ran the 10,000 meters (an event in which she owns the school record) at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. She was the sixth-place finisher in the 5,000 meters at the SEC Indoor Championships.
Feldmeier had a spectacular freshman season, which featured an SEC outdoor title at 800 meters and school records in both the indoor and outdoor 800. She was a first team All-American after her eighth-place result at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
McDonald had a record-setting senior year that saw her advance to the NCAA Championships in both the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon. She earned second team All-America status with her 13th-place finish outdoors. She broke the school record in both events during the 2015 season.
