OXFORD, Miss. – As the 2019-20 academic year draws near, members of the University of Mississippi community have plenty of activities to get them plugged in during the first week of class and thereafter.
Coordinated by the Ole Miss Student Union and Student Activities Association, the schedule features activities for all, including a picnic, silent disco party, Grove-in movie and laser tag, among many other events. Welcome Week is part of the university’s “Month of Welcome,” which runs through Sept. 14.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the scheduled events next week:
Saturday (Aug. 24)
- Welcome Picnic-Pep Rally: 5-7:30 p.m., the Grove
Sunday (Aug. 25)
- Grove-In Movie Series: 8-11:30 p.m., the Grove (rain location: Lamar Hall, Room 129)
Monday (Aug. 26)
- Ballpit with Strangers: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Union Plaza
- Welcome Back Carnival: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Union Plaza
- Dunk your Orientation Leader: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Union Plaza
- Laser Tag: 8-11 p.m., Union Ballroom
Tuesday (Aug. 27)
- CFA Biscuits on the Plaza: 7:30-9 a.m., Union Plaza
- Ballpit with Strangers: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Union Plaza
- Get Involved Fair: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., the Circle
- Sno Biz: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Union Plaza
- Puppies on the Plaza: 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Union Plaza
- Tech Summit: 2-4 p.m., Ford Center
- Fall Convocation: 6-8 p.m., The Pavilion
Wednesday (Aug. 28)
- Tech Summit: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Ford Center
- Ballpit with Strangers: 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., Union Plaza
- Bungee Trampoline: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Union Plaza
- South Campus Rec Center Grand Opening: 3:30-5:30 p.m., South Campus Recreation Center

Thursday (Aug. 29)

Friday (Aug. 30)
