OXFORD, Miss. – As the 2019-20 academic year draws near, members of the University of Mississippi community have plenty of activities to get them plugged in during the first week of class and thereafter.
Coordinated by the Ole Miss Student Union and Student Activities Association, the schedule features activities for all, including a picnic, silent disco party, Grove-in movie and laser tag, among many other events. Welcome Week is part of the university’s “Month of Welcome,” which runs through Sept. 14.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the scheduled events next week:
Saturday (Aug. 24)
- Welcome Picnic-Pep Rally: 5-7:30 p.m., the Grove
Sunday (Aug. 25)

Monday (Aug. 26)

Some events are hosted in conjunction with departments and partners across campus, including the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Center for Student Success and First-Year Experience, Office of Leadership and Advocacy, Associated Student Body, Campus Recreation, the Center for Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, University Police Department, Oxford Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Office of Leadership and Advocacy and Mississippi Blood Services.
