Third New Member of Athletics Leadership Under Bjork
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Athletics Director Ross Bjork continues to bolster his executive leadership, announcing Joe Swingle as the Associate A.D. for Facilities and Game Operations.
Swingle joins the Rebels after serving as Director of Facilities at Arkansas. During his seven-year tenure in Fayetteville, he oversaw all areas of facility management, including supervision of the facility operations staff, day-to-day operations of the facilities and preparing the venues for all Razorback and any special events.
“Joe comes from a high-level athletics program similar to Ole Miss and will bring great expertise to our capital projects and game operations,” Bjork said. “I worked with Joe at Missouri and have seen his career blossom. He is the right man to lead our efforts to transform our facilities and improve on what is already the best gameday experience in college athletics.”
A 1994 graduate of Missouri Southern, Swingle preceded his term at Arkansas with two years as Director of Event Management at Iowa State. He was also Assistant Director of Game Operations at Mizzou from 2000 until 2002.
Swingle is the third new addition to the Ole Miss athletics leadership under Bjork, including Senior Associate A.D. for Academic Support Derek Cowherd and Senior Executive Associate A.D. for External Relations Stephen Ponder.
In other personnel moves, Bjork announced that Eddie Crawford, Langston Rogers and David Wells will serve as Special Assistants to the Athletics Director for Community Relations, History, and Compliance, respectively. They will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with their very specific roles.
