He will be accompanied by violinist Rosalie Doerksen and clarinetist Heather Rodgers. The 3 p.m. event in Nutt Auditorium is free and open to the public.
Originally from China, Taide and his parents moved to Oxford in 2001, and he continued his piano studies with UM music professor Ian Hominick. His musical accomplishments include five consecutive gold medals in the state piano concerto competition and three consecutive gold medals in the State Special Recognition Recitals for the Mississippi Music Teachers Association. He also has represented the state in the Southern Division Finals of the Music Teachers National Association Competition for four straight years.
Besides his solo and accompanying activities on piano, Taide plays saxophone in the Oxford High School Band.
