OXFORD Miss, – The University of Mississippi has won two awards from CollegeFish.org for its efforts to help transfer students succeed.
The awards were presented in San Antonio at an award ceremony for “Nerd Nation,” the annual conference hosted by CollegeFish. One of the awards honors UM as the University Transfer Champion 2015. The other goes to Jason McCormick, a transfer admissions counselor in the Office of Admissions, as the CollegeFish Transfer Champion 2015 for his individual efforts in helping transfer students.
“I’m just excited that that this shows that all the hard work and commitment we have put into becoming a true transfer champion,” McCormick said.
CollegeFish is an online program for members of Phi Theta Kappa honor society to help them to locate information about four-year colleges and universities as well as scholarships that are available to the society’s members. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society dedicated to recognizing and encouraging academic success among two-year college students.
