The Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts is bringing the national Broadway tour of the beloved Tony award-winning musical “Annie” to the University of Mississippi this month.
The show is slated for one performance, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 20). Tickets are $55 for balcony seating, $61 for the mezzanine and box tier 2 and $66.50 for orchestra, parterre and box tier 1 seating. They can be purchased at the UM Box Office inside the Ole Miss Student Union or online at http://www.fordcenter.org.
The production, directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin and choreographed by Liza Gennaro, is a brand-new incarnation of the iconic tale of Little Orphan Annie.
“‘Annie’ is a wonderful family musical,” said Julia Aubrey, interim director of the Ford Center. “We are thrilled to be able to bring this production to Oxford.”
The performance features unforgettable songs such as “It’s a Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street” and the anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow.”
“Annie” was deemed “Spectacular on every count” by Newsweek, and “Overflowing! Big, warm-hearted and funny!” by the New York Post.
Only a few tickets remain, so reserve your seats soon for this wonderful show!
