OXFORD, Miss. – Oxford residents get an opportunity to help local food charities this week during the inaugural Restaurant Week. The observance began yesterday (Jan. 26) and runs through Friday (Feb. 1).
Each participating restaurant is offering specials in conjunction with Restaurant Week. When residents dine at participating eateries, they get an opportunity to vote for their favorite local food-oriented charity.
At the end of the week, the charity attracting the most votes will receive a $5,000 check. The charities include Good Food for Oxford Schools, The Oxford Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, More than a Meal and Lovepacks.
Participating restaurants include Ajax, Backyard Burgers, Big Bad Breakfast, Boure, Casa Mexicana, Chick-fil-A, City Grocery, Country Club of Oxford, Domino’s Pizza, Embers, Golden Rule BBQ, High Point Coffee, Mama Jo’s Country Cookin’, McEwen’s, Newk’s Eatery, Obys, Oxford Grillhouse, Panini, Proud Larry’s, the Ravine, Roasted, Snackbar, Soulshine Pizza, South Depot Taco Shop, Taylor Grocery and Tre Amici.
Coupon books are available for pick-up at the UM Box Office in the Student Union.
